About ALexander Price (Owner of Re-Tile Tiling Solutions Pty Ltd)

We have always had a passion for getting a job done right. I like to see things laid out perfectly, but also know that the foundations are strong. When I looked into the building trades, I was most attracted to tiling – a finishing trade that has to be done very well and looks great when it is, but it also needs to be built up correctly – screeding, waterproofing, tiling, grouting, and silicone.  I have great pride in the work I’ve completed.

Unfortunately, what I found during my apprenticeship and early independent work is that most tiling was done cutting corners – screed not mixed properly, waterproofing done to a minimal level, or not at all, tiles laid incorrectly popping off floors and walls, cheap adhesive, cheap grout, and lack of flexible silicone expansion joints.  That was great for generating repair work for me, but a terrible experience for the owner.  Tiling should last 20+ years, but was often fixing work that was only a few years old.

I started my own business because I wanted to make sure I could do tiling the way I wanted – “do it once, do it right”.  I want to make sure the customers can enjoy their tiled areas for a long time to come and not have to worry about the consequences of poor workmanship.

Since going out on my own I’ve completed a number of jobs and gained many referrals from many happy customers.  My aim is to make sure they’re still referring people in 20+ years.
